Cross Docking

Navigator supports picking of stock directly from receipted shipments using an optional cross-docking module. When this module is used, Navigator extends the receipting process by showing the receiver additional screens after each batch of items is processed.

Once the receipt transaction completes, Navigator matches stock in the staging area with pick slips which are completed with short picked lines, but not yet despatched. This allows short picked items to be adjusted in order to ensure as much stock is despatched as possible per day.

The scanner shows a list of orders including the customer name and the percentage of the order which is complete. This allows the receiver to select either the most urgent order by customer, or the order closest to being totally fulfilled. Once an order is selected, Navigator displays any tubs assigned to the order. To continue, the receiver must scan one of the tubs in order to ensure that stock is not mixed with items picked for another order. The number of items ordered and the number of items picked is displayed. The operator must confirm the quantity they are allocating to the pickslip and press ENTER.

Navigator will prevent an "over pick" scenario from occurring by checking the quantity entered by the user.

Navigator updates the total quantity picked for the item and marks the pick slip as complete (if it only required this item), then re-displays the list of pick slips which match items in the location. The inventory level in the staging area will automatically be decreased based on the quantity picked.

The screen will close once there are no more orders which can benefit from stock in the staging area, or when the user manually closes the form by pressing ESC (escape).
