Navigator includes a tool for automating time-specific processes. This software runs in its own Windows Service and wakes up each minute to perform work on the Navigator system.
The scheduler performs the following tasks:
Pick Scheduling
- The scheduler examines the cut off time for each courier and assigns pick slip priorities based on the time of day.
Data Purging
- Each morning at 4:30, Navigator removes old data from the system including pick slips, receipts and inventory transfers.
Replenishment calculations
- Each morning at 4:30, Navigator re-calculates the minimum quantities for each bin location based on a historical maximum over the last 30 days. If locations have insufficient inventory, the replenishment flag is automatically switched on.
Cycle Counts
- Each morning at 4:30, Navigator creates cycle count jobs for each bin location based on the stock item's count class, and the maximum time allowed between counts.
Automatic Sign Off
- Each morning at 4:30, Navigator signs off users from their scanners. This ensures that they do not accidently sign on to two scanners at the same time.
Label Reprinting
- The scheduler automatically re-sends files to Bartender for jobs reprinted via the Navigator WMS web screen.
