Voice Receiving (Navigator Voice 2013)
Voice receiving is an application allowing shipping containers to be hand unloaded to pallets and for Navigator to capture a tally of all inwards goods and the pallet/container numbers onto which each stock item is placed. This process allows the receiving staff to work with both hands free while maintaining accurate records on inbound goods.

Please note: Your system will likely have been customised and may differ slightly from this process. Certain prompts may have been added to assist in workflows specific to your company, or removed to streamline the process.
- Purchase orders or shipping manifests are downloaded into Navigator before the shipping container arrives.
- When the shipment arrives, each person working on the shipment speaks the order number they are working on.
- Navigator checks that the order number is valid, and downloads a list of stock items to be received.
- Navigator examines each item on the order and tells the picker how many digits from the end of the barcode they should speak. For example, if a barcode number is 9312058293124, Navigator may work out that each item can be uniquely be identified by speaking the last 3 digits of the barcode.
- Retrieve the next carton from the container, and speak the last 3 digits (or 4 if requested) of the barcode. If you have a scanner, you may scan the item barcode.
- Speak the quantity to be received.
- Speak the container number onto which stock will be placed.
- Speak the container check digit.
- Navigator will quantity spoken to the total received for this item against the current receipt. Navigator will also increase the quantity stored on the pallet.
- Retrieve the next carton(s).
- At any time, the inbound pallet can be taken for wrapping/put away.
