Explanation

Navigator: Function?

User: 2

Navigator: Replenishments, correct?

User: yes
The user should sign on to their voice terminal, and select function 2 to commence the replenishment process.
Navigator: To get next replenishment, say ready.

User: ready
Navigator downloads the highest priority replenishment and loads a list of available bulk stock for the item within the warehouse.

Navigator may also say 'There are no replenishments for this area. To continue, say ready.' At this time, the system will return to the start of the replenishment program.
Navigator: Bulk stock. Aisle 24, Bay 2, Level 5, Position 1.

Navigator provides directions to find the replenishment operator to the 'next'  available location containing stock to replenish the highest priority replenishment task.
Navigator: Pallet 1093. Check digit?
User: 908
If your warehouse tracks bulk stock using pallet labels / lot numbers, Navigator will read out the lot number containing the stock to replenish.

To continue, speak the check digit from the pallet label to prove the correct pallet has been located.

Navigator: Location check digit?

User: 124

If the bulk stock located is stored loose on a shelf and does not have a pallet label, Navigator will ask for the location check digit.

To continue, speak the check digit from the label on the racking to prove stock is being taken from the correct place.

Navigator: Picking location. Aisle 23, Bay 1, Level 1, Position 2. Location check digit?

User: 133
Navigator directs the operator to the picking location which must be filled. The replenisher must confirm the check digit on the picking location. If the check digit entered is incorrect, the operator is prompted to re-enter the value.
Navigator: Product ID 6325. Check digit?

When stock is being replenished from a mixed pallet, Navigator will speak a 'product id' value to the worker. The worker should look for product labels on the pallet with this number present, then speak the product's check digit.

Navigator: Quantity?

User: 48
The operator is asked how many items they are placing into the pick location. If the quantity spoken is higher than the number available to be transferred, the user receives an error message 'Too many items transferred. The maximum you may transfer is ...'

As soon as the quantity is entered, Navigator transfers stock from the bin location (or pallet) to the picking location. The replenishment task is marked as completed.

Navigator: Return pallet. Aisle 24 Bay 2 Level 5 Position 1. Location check digit?
User: 133

OR

Navigator: Pallet is empty. Please destroy the label.
User: ready

Finally, the system helps the worker to return the remaining bulk stock to storage. Typically the system will recommend that stock is returned to the same location it was retrieved from.

If a mixed pallet (without a lot number) is returned to the same location, the worker does not need to perform a separate inventory transaction for each item remaining on the pallet.

If the pallet has a lot number, Navigator will suggest a new location for the pallet in the warehouse. Typically the location will be a bulk location close to the picking location for the item on the pallet with the highest stock balance.

If a lot numbered pallet is emptied, the user is alerted and they may proceed to the next replenishment operation without performing a pallet 'put away'. Note that the pallet lot number label should be destroyed once the pallet is empty.
